celebrations, shopping sprees, and dead animal body parts

so, my birthday was 2 days ago... and though the sad reality is that the older you get, the less exciting the birthday celebrations become. unless of course you're Oprah, which i apparently am not. oh well, i suppose i'm getting old (AND i'm not one of the richest women in the world) and i'll just have to get over that. ok, i'm over it.
however, this birthday has to have been one of the best ever, well, at least in my "mature" years. The day started off like any other... I originally had plans to have lunch w/my mom and dad, but the plans fell through (it's a long detailed story and i don't really want to get into it, but it was no big deal). So I ran some errands, nothign too exciting. About noon, Scott called to tell me that our tax refund check had come in. Hooray! PLUS, it was pay day! Yippee! That evening, Scott got home from work and told me that SOMEONE HAD COMMITTED TO BUY OUR TRUCK! YA-FREAKING-HOO!!!! We've only been trying to sell the damn thing for a MONTH! i mean, seriously, what could be better than all these good things happening on your birthday? so Scott and i went to eat dinner at Lytle Land & Cattle. at one point, i thought he had told our waitress that it was my birthday, because all of the sudden, about 8 employees at the restaurant were right by our table, and i saw one girl look over her shoulder and point at me. i thought they were about to start singing to me, and i griped at scott for it... hahaha, little did i know, scott was innocent of the accused crimes. so we went on with our dinner. we went out, bought me a bike (we're starting an exercise regimen for those of you who don't know), and Scott got me a blackberry cobbler and some vanilla ice cream.
see? i told you, nothing too exciting, but i thoroughly enjoyed the day. i guess i'm as boring as my age says i am! haha

yesterday, the big "Dittos for Kiddos" sale began. I had consigned some things this year, so I got to go shop before the public, which was EXCELLENT, plus, i'm making some money from selling Lincoln's old stuff. it's a win, win situation. Usually I would have my mom go with me to shop, but she is out of town, so i somehow got my husband to agree to go. BAD IDEA. well, i mean, he was a GREAT HELP and it was actually wonderful having him go with me.... but i walked in that building with somewhat of a budget, and with his help, we blew through the roof of our budget. that's right, friends, we spend $210.00 on clothes, books, videos, a toy, and a piggy bank for Lincoln. HOLY CRAP! i'm serious, if there was anything cute on the 4T racks, it's all gone now. (yes, he will be wearing 4T this summer- he's a big boy!). we have enough clothes for spring, summer, and fall for this year. plus we got like 6 new videos, 4 new books, a singing Elmo (by the way, i can't understand why i bought the damn thing, it's quite obnoxious), and his first Piggy Bank. we really got a good deal on everything, but we now have SOOOO MUCH STUFF!
to say my son is spoiled would be just a slight understatement. the kid needs a sibling, pronto. yet the concept of ME having to have another child will not be followed by the word pronto. alas, we have an issue there.

hopefully, since we have now sold our truck... i mean, we made some money off of it, PLUS we will be saving $5,000 a year in payments for it, HOPEFULLY buying a house is in our near future. when it happens i expect a big, elaborate party with lots and lots of gifts haha, only kidding. i will accept a small party with lots of gifts

i think i am funny.

tomorrow, my childhood best friend is getting married. another of my childhood friends recently found out that she is expecting... we are all getting old, and it is crazy. it's hard to imagine my son's life could possibly go by this quickly. he will be 3 in six months. before i know it, he will be 18. i'm just not ready for that. well, except for the fact that scott and i will have the house to ourselves again :) (oh, well, i guess i really should calculate another child into this equation).

i fear that now i am just babbling... just typing any small and uninformative / unentertaining thing that pops in to my mind (which can also be explained in such terms- KIDDING!) so i will pull the plug on the rambilng blog before i get in too deep. goodbye, all.

(oh, one more thing since i know you all care so much... for some reason there is a deer skull, antlers included, laying on my computer desk. it's just right here by me... and every time i reach over to grab the mouse, i get scratched by mr. deer skull's teeth. quite disgusting, if i do say so myself. my husband really needs to clean up his deer crap.)
