God is good.

Lincoln’s class at school had “50s Day” a couple of weeks ago and i forgot to post pictures then. they dressed up in 50s clothes and learned a lot about the decade of the 1950s and also about the number 50. he looked super cool.

Lexi likes to yell at her toys.

they really do love each other!

Lexi looooves to clap her hands! she claps for pat-a-cake and also when we say “yay, Lexi!” it makes her really excited :)

i don't see how this is comfortable!!

Scott and i were blessed to get to go to a BarlowGirl concert in San Angelo on Sunday 3/29. i helped the event coordinator in the weeks leading up to the show by helping with advertising in Abilene and selling tickets at our church. since i helped him out, we were allowed to get in an hour and a half before the show started. we got to meet the girls (there are three of them and they’re sisters. their last name is Barlow, hence the name of the band.) and take pictures with them. they even recorded a little “hello” to Lincoln on our video camera since he wasn’t there and he loooooves them. they were so nice and personable. then, as we were leaving the room where they (and their people) were eating dinner, the event coordinator stopped us and told us that there was food for us too. so, WE GOT TO EAT DINNER WITH THEM! they’re our favorite band and we got to eat dinner with them! we weren’t hungry, but we ate anyway! then, when we finished eating and got back into the area where the concert was, all the seats were already full. we figured that since we got to meet them and hang out with them for a while, that we could tolerate not having great seats. it was worth it to have crappy seats. but LO AND BEHOLD, there were FRONT ROW SEATS reserved for us!!! we were in the front row in the very center- right in front of the girls! it was such a special experience for us. it will definitely be a night we’ll never forget and i’m so glad we got to experience it together. it will definitely NOT be the last time we see them in concert. they were great! here’s a video i recorded of their new (unreleased) song, “Beautiful Ending”: *i canNOT figure out why there are two of them- the HTML is only entered once, so i'm leaving them both there! i don't have time to worry about it :)

moving right along.

*sigh* i need to vacuum my living room. i just vacuumed yesterday. the fact that my daughter is mobile is not so exciting when it comes to house cleaning. she no longer moves backward but she now is an army-crawling pro. well, when i say pro, i mean that she now realizes how she's making herself move and can do it over and over again. it still is not the most beautiful or graceful thing in the world, but it's effective. one of the first things she noticed is the extension cord that runs right along the front of our couch. it's just barely underneath the couch and is quite easy to pull out. it's where we plug in our computer when it's in the living room. it looks like we'll only be able to get on the computer in the dining room from now on. that extension cord is gonna have to go.
lexi is spending the night away from home for the first time tonight! i have mixed feelings about it. i'm kinda sad she won't be here for me to snuggle with in the morning, but i'm glad she's moving on to where she'll be able to go spend the night with grandparents and make some weekends easier for us in the future.
lincoln will be staying at home by himself so that lexi and nana can get to know each other better (they've yet to spend any time alone!) and bond a bit. lincoln's pretty excited to get mommy and daddy all to himself tonight. we were going to have a picnic in the park, feed the ducks, and play outside.... but of course it's a cold and windy day, so our fun plans have changed. actually, lincoln seems even more excited about the idea of having a picnic in our very own living room. he's already brought his Go, Diego, Go! blanket into the living room and asked for pizza for our picnic. scott and i are looking forward to being able to give him all our attention for the first time in almost 8 1/2 months!
i'm pretty sure i'll miss my baby girl for at least a few minutes, though :)

lots of catching up to do

**blogger is being annoying. the preview that i see shows that the spacing between my pics and comments are completely normal, but when i go to look at the actual post, everything is spaced way far out. i'm tired of trying to fix it. looks like it's gonna stay funky**

lots has been going on during the past month (in which i have been slacking majorly on my blog). let's dive right in.

lexi can (finally) sit up on her own! she's been working on it for a while, but can finally do it completely unsupported. she's also learned to go from sitting to lying down gracefully, so i don't have to worry about her bonking her head or anything.

we went to san antonio for our niece, hannah's, birthday party. she had a cooking party during which lincoln got his own apron- complete with spiderman decorations. he pretty much LOVED it.

we went to a really fun park in san antonio, where there was this giant rock. scott was the first one to climb on it. then, lincoln (suddenly and surprisingly) got brave and climbed all the way to the top by himself!!!

then, after watching his daddy do it, he jumped off. i also have n action shot of scott jumping like this (only scott jumped from the very top and lincoln jumped from about halfway up) but scott would not be pleased if i posted it :)

lexi will be crawling in no time! she can scoot and roll around pretty well and get to just about anything she has her eyes on. as soon as she figures out how to get her knees underneath her, she'll be moving! she currently crawls backward and doesn't seem all too happy about moving AWAY from stuff she wants!

we've gone on two four hour (one way) road trips in the past two weeks. we will be so glad to stay at home this weekend!
my aunt christi is out of remission (she has acute myeloid leukemia) and is going into the hospital for more chemotherapy in hopes that she can be in remission in time to get her scheduled bone marrow transplant in the middle of april. the fact that a donor has been found is reason for major celebration in spite of this recent setback in her road to recovery.
lincoln's school had spring break last week. it was a nice change from the normal, but i am totally ready for him to go back!!! we are both driving each other a little crazy!
he is so funny. he says the most random and hilarious things... on our drive to san antonio, i had just commented to scott how beautiful the scenery was. lincoln immediately said, "whoa! this place is pretty nifty!" i wish i could remember all of the funny things that he says. the boy has QUITE an imagination and every day he says or something (or some things) that crack me up. he is currently in the bath (a great way to waste half an hour during the day!) growling and making "fighting" noises. ah, boys.
dittos is over and was a huge success for me this year. i sold 95% of the stuff i took and ended up making twice as much as i spent! usually i spend more than i make, so it will be nice to have money put away for clothes and shoes i was unable to find at dittos.
i have a screaming child and hamburgers that are not cooking themselves... though i have more updates, i'm afraid this is it.
