May

Here is some of our May in pictures.

Lincoln's sweet teacher helped the kids throw a Mother's Day party. We ate goodies and played a game. It was lots of fun!

We went to a Backyardigans-themed birthday party for Zack Waggoner. Here I am with Lexi Uniqua.

Lexi had Daddy throw her into the foam pit over and over and over.

We've enjoyed some time at the zoo. Here, the kids took a break from looking at the animals to love on each other.

Lincoln made this picture frame for his teacher, Mrs. Johnson. He painted the front pink and purple because she's a girl and those are obviously her favorite colors. The back was green and blue (two of his favorite colors).

Our day of fun

Thanks to my mom, William Shatner, and the rough boss at Unger Painting Co (aka my own husband), Scott and I got to go on a mini-getaway. Seriously, mini. But hey- we had fun and we definitely needed it!
We dropped our kids off with Nana and Pops on a Saturday morning and headed to Fort Worth.

Our first stop was Joe T. Garcia's for some really great Mexican food. My dear friend Jody met us there and we had a great time catching up.We have been friends for 24 years!
(And ew, this was before I started Weight Watchers)

Then we headed to the Hilton Fort Worth Hotel is beautiful downtown. Thanks to Mr. Shatner and his "name your own price" plan on Priceline, we got a really great room for $68!
When we got there, we noticed that none of our HD channels (which also happened to be our favorite TV channels; Discovery, History, TBS, ESPN, etc, etc) were working. Someone came to our room but they were unable to fix the problem. I was preparing to do some serious complaining when the kind man offered us free passes to the executive lounge on the top floor. We spent the rest of our evening enjoying free drinks and snacks (and leftovers from Joe T's) while watching Discovery in the fancy shmancy executive lounge. The lounge also included free breakfast (which did not originally come with our room) so we were pretty pumped about that!

Just some of our treats from the lounge. Believe me, there was much more.

We spent a lot of time in the elevator. Between our room, the lounge, the bar, the lobby, and other random exploring, there were lots of up-and-down trips.

This was the view from our 8th floor room. Love it!

The next day, we headed to Arlington to go to the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. We went on a ballpark tour and happened to be the only people on the tour! It was very interesting and (even though it wasn't Busch Stadium), we had lots of fun.
Since the Rangers were playing out of town when we went, we got to go in the locker room. We were told that when the team is in town, people are not allowed in here. Although we would've like to have seen some players taking batting practice, going in the locker room was really cool.
After that, we headed home and went back to our "normal" lives. It was only about 26 hours, but we had fun!
