Lincoln's Awesome Plan

if you know lincoln at all, you know that he is obsessed with Star Wars. we own 5 of the 7 Star Wars movies (i am counting the newest computer animated one) and he watches one of them almost every day. he also owns a lightsaber that actually lights up and makes noises just like the ones on the movies (and it has a motion sensor so it makes noises at the appropriate times!).
yesterday, the whole fam was in the car, headed to cici's (lincoln got to pick the restaurant since he had earned all his marbles) and lincoln started to talk about heaven. he asked me what kinds of things we do in heaven and i told him that we got to do whatever kind of cool stuff we want to do in heaven. well, lincoln's idea of heaven made me laugh and smile and think of how wonderful life (and even death) is through the eyes of a child.
when lincoln gets to heaven, he wants to play star wars. he, of course is going to be luke skywalker. Jesus will play with him, too, and he will pretend to be darth vader. and God..... well, God will be chewbacca.

it's february already?

i took Lexi back to the doctor today to have her 6 months shots. she couldn't have them last time we were there since she was sick, so we went today. her official 6 month size is 12 lbs 9 oz & 24.5 inches. evidently her length measurement was wrong last time. i asked her doctor if she was going to be a midget (not the politically correct term but whatev) and he told me that she's the size of an average 4 month old and that she's not even on the growth chart. she's in the <1%for weight and the 5-10% for length.
lincoln, on the other hand, is still one of the biggest and tallest kids in his class. he's also the youngest kid in his class by at least 2 months. speaking of him being so young, i think we've decided that even though he'll be 5 by the time school starts this fall, he won't be starting kindergarten until 2010. academically he is totally ready to start K in the fall, but socially he's a little behind the other kids in his current pre-k class. he's had a few issues with hitting and having trouble playing (about once a month it's an issue). so we figure that he needs another year to "grow up" a bit before he goes to public school. i don't know if he'll go to the same school next year or if he'll go to a full-time pre-k at a public school. it kind of depends on where we're living in august, i suppose.

i've been working on Dittos for Kiddos stuff for the past week or two and i'm finally through hanging everything up, putting tags on, and getting everything entered into the computer. i ended up with a whopping 230 items!!!! i'm so glad to be getting rid of all that stuff!!!!
the picture above is all of the clothes i'll be selling (or donating, if they don't sell). scott had to hang a plastic-coated wire across our back den so i'd have a place to put everything. that wire is 8 ft long. there are about 170 hangers on it.

scott is currently working on painting our house. it's been needing to get done for a while, and the past week he's been out here getting it done. lincoln has been outside every day "helping" his daddy. scott went and got lincoln a white sweater, because link reeeeally wanted some painting clothes like his daddy. he's been so excited to have his own painting clothes, paint brush, paint can, and caulk. he's learning how to make it in the family business early in life!
