Scott and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary this weekend. We went out on a date Saturday night and the kids went to spend the night with Papa and Sugar.
Before we could leave the house, though, Lexi found Lincoln's markers:
Our date was fun! First we went bowling, then we headed to the batting cages! I couldn't believe he planned that, but it ended up being so much fun!
I did much better than I expected I would. I even impressed my husband (but I don't really know if that's saying much or not).
We ate stuffed ourselves at Outback Steakhouse.

Then we ended our night by watching lots of Winter Olympics in the comfort of our quiet, child-free living room.
I can't believe we've been married 6 years! I hope we have 60 more together!

They say that catching up is hard to dooooo....

Already February??? Wow! I don't even remember what our January consisted of because it flew by so quickly! I do know there was lots of rain, illness, and "normal" life.
Lexi and I got a sinus infection at the same time and our wonderful pediatrician gave us both prescriptions for z-packs. We love Dr. Smith! Lincoln came home from school one day with pinkeye. He missed one day of school because of it. Of course, Lexi ended up getting it a few days later. We've also had tons of coughing in our house and several near sleepless nights.
It has RAINED SO MUCH! It did not seem like January because normally it's so dry. We have had two days where creeks were flooded and there is yet another chance of rain this coming week. Where the heck do we live?
A few bits about the kids:
Lexi is speaking in small simple sentences... mostly "Uh-oh ___", "Bye-bye ____", "Night-night ____", "Hi ____", "No ____", and "See ____". (ex: "Uh-oh paci!", No oatmeal," "See Daddy?!") Others are "More, please!" (sounds like "moe") and "Help, please!" I'm sure there are more, but these are all I can think of right now.
Lincoln has learned how to lie. He's in a fun little stage where (although he's been told otherwise) he thinks that lying about doing something will keep him from getting in trouble. He's also learned the word "ain't" from a boy at school and Mommy is NOT loving it!
Link has been so very patient with his sister and little cousin lately. He's been so great at sharing and not retaliating when one of the younger kids is mean or ugly to him. I'm really proud of the great boy he's becoming. There are a few little things he needs to learn, but he's got a lot of time! He's really just a great kid and he's pretty dang hilarious, too.
February is a big month for us. In 2 weeks and 1 day, we have been married for 6 years! Then on the last day of the month, I'll be 26.
I guess I don't have a lot to say, but I wanted to catch up on a few things before I forgot... Especially since it's been so long since I've posted anything!
